Research Assistant, Part time, 9.5 hours per week
Salary: £17.24 per hour plus £2.77ph holiday pay

We are looking for a Research Assistant to join our Applied Musicology research group to support the Mini Musicians research study. Mini Musicians is an innovative programme of music teaching being delivered to 600 children in 10 Merton primary schools between January 2024 to July 2025. We are looking for a Research Assistant to support the final stage of music assessments and undertake the quantitative analysis for the research project.

The key activities of the role are:
• Conducting music assessments with 6- to 7-year-olds in schools
• Video analysis and scoring of music assessments
• Quantitative data collection and analysis of academic attainment data
• Production of datasets, tables and graphics needed to support academic reporting of the results of the project
• Supporting the submission of award entries for pupils taking Trinity Awards and
Certificates in Musical Development
