We are a long-established group made up from current and retired NHS employees based in Kirkcaldy. Current membership is approximately 20 and rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7.15-8.45, with some scope to change preferred evening.

There is a requirement for the MD to provide suitable sheet music and recorded practice tracks for rehearsal purposes, however there are no auditions for choir members, and it is not a prerequisite for members to be able to read music.

Terms of contract will be negotiated with the successful candidate. Fee is anticipated to be approx £50 per hour with 1/5-2 hours rehearsal time per week and remuneration is paid on receipt of invoice.

The following skills are important for the job:
• Previous experience of directing adult choirs and the ability to motivate and inspire members
• Intermediate/advanced piano/keyboard skills- rehearsals only
• Access to accompaniment for concerts
• Lead rehearsals with sense of humour and respect for individuals.
• Work collaboratively with the choir members and committee to provide a weekly rehearsal schedule.
• Design concert programmes in conjunction with the committee with broad appeal to both audience and choir.

Selection will be by interview and participation in a short audition rehearsal with the choir.
