Community Music Connected: Birmingham
17 October 2022
Sound Sense, in partnership with MAC Makes Music, is hosting this FREE event in Birmingham, inviting local community musicians, practitioners and all those involved in helping people make music to come together for a day of skill-sharing, networking, jamming and discussion with a focus on lifelong music-making

Sound Sense is excited to be in Birmingham and partnering with member MAC Makes Music for our first in-person Community Music Connected event!

We welcome local organisations and individuals to join us for a day of skill-sharing, networking and discussion, with a focus on ‘Lifelong Music-Making’ - a space to explore and celebrate creative music-making at all stages of life.

This event is for you if any of these statements ring true:

  • You help people make music in your community; that may be in a hospital, care home, community centre, school, early years settings or outdoors
  • You call yourself a community musician, music practitioner, music therapist, music teacher, music facilitator or music educator (to name a few!)
  • You’re keen to freshen up your practice with some new skills, tools and resources
  • You love making music and are curious to find out what community music is and meet people who are working in the field
  • You’d like to connect with others working in community music in and around Birmingham
