Promoting inclusive and anti-racist spaces in music education; with and for young people, led by Natasha Hendry

Sound Connections and the South Riverside Music Partnership (SRMP) are working together to deliver a training and networking programme for music teachers and leaders in Lambeth, Lewisham, Royal Greenwich and Southwark. This is the final session of a 3 year programme and this series has been made possible thanks to funding from the SCOPS Arts Trust.

This session is open to anyone working with children and young people through music in the London boroughs of Lambeth, Lewisham, Royal Greenwich and Southwark.

Workshop content
In this workshop, Natasha will empower attendees who are on an equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in music education journey to know how to apply their knowledge and experiences in the best ways possible with and for the particular young people they work with and will include:

- Presentation of Natasha’s and other research undertaken on anti-racism initiatives in music education
- Outline of the evidence-based strengths and weaknesses of various strategies
- Attendees will identify how evident these facilitators or barriers may be in the areas they work within and create an action plan to support them to create anti-racist, inclusive music education spaces
- Discuss, connect and share with colleagues

Capacity is limited so booking is essential.
Free to attend.
