More jobs for community musicians

Summary:
Soundlincs, the Lincolnshire music development agency and a Sound Sense member, has recently recruited 25 new community musicians
Date Posted:
22 Dec 2009

The largest single intake in the organisation’s 11 year history, the newcomers extend the agency's current team of freelance facilitators operating around the county.

"Ongoing demand across Lincolnshire and continuing support from our funders means we have work waiting for the new members of the team," said CEO Nikki-Kate Heyes. "Our main criterion was to find enthusiastic professional music-makers who demonstrate a real flair for communicating their passion within a range of different settings and contexts. I'm delighted to be able to welcome so many on board at once."

Specialists have been appointed to cover a diversity of genres, from instrumental and vocal training to junk percussion, DJ skills and digital music production. After their initial induction and training, the new facilitators will be engaged in the delivery of music-making residencies in pre-schools, primary and secondary schools, youth clubs and other community settings, together with bespoke projects developed and delivered to meet specific briefs.
